Grey to pale brown medium to very coarse sand, gravelly (including cobbles). Slightly glauconitic.
Fluvioglacial (Lee et al. 2012) (easterly rivers sourced in central Germany).
Underlain by finer fluvial sand (Appelscha Formation).
Locally, sharp contact with fluvial clay and fine sand (Urk Formation). Elsewhere, more gradual transition into coarser fluvial sand (Urk Formation) or overlain by subglacial or ice-marginal sand (Peelo Formation).
