Lithological description

Brownish yellow to greenish grey very fine to fine sand, slightly to moderately silty, commonly glauconitic.

Depositional setting

Shallow marine (glauconitic sand), coastal (silica sand) (Van der Meulen et al. 2009).

Definition of lower boundary

Locally, rounded flint at base. Sharp, unconformable contact with coastal-lowland sand (Heksenberg Member, Breda Formation).

Definition of upper boundary

May be exposed at the surface. Locally, palaeosol at top. Sharp contact with fluvial sand (Kieseloolite Formation) or with various Quaternary units.

Up to about 90 m.

Southeasternmost part of the Netherlands.
