Structure and bearing capacity of the ground

Cone penetration tests enable us to determine the stratification and bearing capacity of the ground. Cone resistance is a measure of the capacity of ground to support loads applied in the ground or at the surface without producing shear failure. Sleeve friction quantifies the cohesive strength of the ground. The friction ratio is used for automated sedimentological classification per depth interval with uniform characteristics. Pore water pressure measurements provide information on the groundwater level, and add precision to the identification of permeable and less permeable layers.
