Lithological description

Red to red-brown, anhydritic claystones and siltstones, containing three intercalated anhydrite intervals. These anhydrite beds grade laterally into rocksalt in basin settings such as the Dutch Central Graben.

Depositional setting

Playa to sabkha (lacustrine with marine incursions).
