Groundwater Head Viewer expanded with BRO data up to September 2026

The Groundwater Head Viewer by TNO Geological Survey of the Netherlands has been expanded with data from the National Key Registry of the Subsurface (BRO). As a result, more data is now available, and users can consult information up to and including September 2026.

What’s new?

  • Expansion with BRO data: Data from wells in the BRO has been added to the viewer. This increases the available measurement series for groundwater level analysis.
  • Data up to September 2026: The available measurement data has been updated up to and including September 2026.
  • Filter by data source: Users can now choose to display data from DINO, the BRO, or a combination of both sources.
  • Updated layout: The viewer's interface has been redesigned to make consulting and analyzing groundwater data more accessible.

Future developments

Work on further expanding the viewer will continue in the coming period. A key next step is enabling daily updates from the BRO to the Groundwater Head Viewer, ensuring new information is automatically added. Additionally, visualizations displaying groundwater levels relative to ground surface level in map view are currently under development. This will provide clear insights into local groundwater depth.
