DefinitionThe Z1 Salt Member is recognised in the sub-basins south of the Texel-IJsselmeer High (see pdf) . Usually only rock salt occurs, but locally, in the Central Netherlands Basin and the Roer Valley Graben, two potassium-magnesium salt seams occur in the middle part of the member. Among the saltminerals identified here are kieserite, carnallite and sylvite.
