Definition The Z1 Lower Anhydrite Member is composed of a massive anhydrite. Dolomite stringers occur frequently in the unit, thus rendering its distinction from the Z1 Fringe Carbonate Member difficult. The unit interfingers with the Z1 Middle Claystone Member, and thus may contain some clay in the sub-basins. Differentiation between these members may be difficult in places.
Upper Boundary The unit is only recognised in the presence of an overlying Z1 Salt Member
