Definition Extrusive volcanic unit of an acidic composition, massive, grey to pale pink, consisting of a microcrystalline groundmass with quartz phenocrysts. Petrologically interpreted as a rhyolite. The sediments overlying the Rhyolite Member contain a number of thin volcanic beds (minor lava flows).
