DINOShop is the central portal to data on the Dutch subsurface. These data can be requested per category and users can search for them in three ways: with an NITG-number, a set of x,y co-ordinates or by defining a rectangle defined by x,y co-ordinates. In the data selection process, users can indicate the radius of the area of interest surrounding the x,y co-ordinate in which they are interested. For borings and cone penetration tests, they can also include a parameter for end depth.

Once the request for data has been submitted, the user will be sent an e-mail -as soon as all the requested data have been collected- with a URL from which the data can be downloaded. The data are furnished in the form of tab-spaced ASCII text files (click here for an example) and an XML file (click here for an example). The files are merged together and compressed into a Zip file. More information on the software required for using DINOShop can be found under Software requirements page and in the Help pages.

Public and non-public data
All data disseminated by DINOShop are public, but TNO-NITG manages more than just public data. These non-public data are under embargo, but this embargo can be lifted under certain circumstances. You can find more information about this on the Pricelist and the Explanation of rates pages.
